The shortage inside the boom
Every FUE case needs hours of meticulous graft work from a team of technicians, and UK clinics cannot hire enough of them. This course trains the craft to assessed standards: magnified graft preparation, survival discipline and implantation support at surgical pace.
Programme
- Lab foundation in microscope ergonomics, graft anatomy, trimming technique and quality grading, with timed assessed practice on tissue analogues
- Survival discipline, covering hydration, temperature and out-of-body time, the numbers that decide outcomes
- Implantation support, including implanter loading, site-following and working at pace without waste
- Live surgical days in supervised roles inside real cases, under the operating team’s direction
- A career module on scope and law for technicians, the freelance day-rate market and the red flags of non-compliant clinics
Frequently asked questions
There is no statutory qualification; clinics hire on demonstrable graft-handling competence, usually evidenced by assessed training plus supervised session experience. That absence of a standard route is exactly why this assessed course exists, and why good technicians currently command £200–£500 per day freelance.
UK clinics report technician shortage as their growth constraint, and surgical teams need multiple technicians per case. We maintain relationships with hiring clinics and share vacancies with graduates, without guaranteeing employment, because nobody honestly can.
