Can I be a model from Portsmouth instead of a delegate?

How many models will I treat on the foundation course?

Four to six across the two clinical days, at a published maximum ratio of one trainer to four delegates. If on-the-day suitability reduces your exposure, you return to a supervised clinic free.

Is there a course venue in Portsmouth itself?

Not currently. We concentrate clinical infrastructure in London and Manchester so every cohort gets the same published ratios and model clinics. A comfortable same-day return for one-day courses.

The one rule that already binds you

England has no cosmetic practitioner licence in force. The direction of travel was set out in a departmental response on 7 August 2025, which described a three tier red, amber and green model and put botulinum toxin and dermal fillers into the amber tier. It has not been legislated. There is no scheme to register with, and any provider implying otherwise is selling access to something that does not exist.

The exception is firm. The Botulinum Toxin and Cosmetic Fillers (Children) Act 2021 makes it a criminal offence in England to administer toxin or filler to someone under 18 for cosmetic purposes. In a city with as many young people as Portsmouth, a documented age checking policy is worth having in writing from your first day of practice rather than from your first difficult conversation.

Ask instead what the next step looks like, what it costs and how soon it is sensible to take it, then judge the answer against your own experience rather than against the enthusiasm of whoever is selling it.

Eligibility comes before logistics

Before you look at dates, settle the two things that decide whether training is open to you at all. Injectable courses are for registered healthcare professionals. And botulinum toxin is a prescription only medicine, so a prescriber has to be involved for a named patient, an arrangement you make separately from any course.
