How many models will I treat on the foundation course?

Four to six across the two clinical days, at a published maximum ratio of one trainer to four delegates. If on-the-day suitability reduces your exposure, you return to a supervised clinic free.

Is there a course venue in Aberdeen itself?

Scottish law, which is where you will practise

This is the part that matters most, and it is where Aberdeen differs from every other town covered on this site. You would train in England but practise in Scotland, and Scotland has legislated separately.

The Non-surgical Procedures and Functions of Medical Reviewers (Scotland) Act 2026 (2026 asp 13) was passed on 17 March 2026 and received Royal Assent on 12 May 2026. An Act existing is not the same as an offence existing. The offence provisions are not yet in force. Section 2(1), which concerns procedures on under 18s, and section 3, which concerns procedures carried out outwith permitted premises, both await commencement. Section 4 defines what counts as permitted premises and excludes a dwelling or a care home from that definition. Section 24(4) prevents section 3 from being commenced before 6 September 2027, which is a floor on the earliest possible date rather than a date on which anything happens.
