Where midwives stand
Midwives are NMC-registered, which places you among the statutorily regulated professionals recognised in the JCCP’s framework. That matters twice over: it is the basis insurers underwrite against today, and it is the professional category England’s proposed licensing scheme is being designed around.
Prescribing, practically
Midwives sit on the NMC register with the same prescribing rules as nurses, including the June 2025 face-to-face requirement. Remote prescribing for cosmetic procedures is banned by every UK regulator, so whatever your arrangement, it is built on in-person consultations.
Insurance

What you bring
Consultation skill is the midwife’s transferable superpower. Expectation-setting and consent conversations, practised daily in maternity care, are half of good aesthetic practice.
The route
The Foundation Botox & Dermal Filler course is the entry point: online theory, then two supervised clinical days at a published 4:1 ratio with four to six models per delegate. From there, supervised cases, the Advanced course, and the Level 7 Diploma when you want the regulated credential. Yes. NMC-registered midwives are eligible for our full injectables pathway including the Level 7 Diploma, on the same basis as nurses.
