We are not running this course at present. This page is published as a guide to what the training involves and what to check before booking it anywhere, rather than as a course for sale. Aurelia Institute holds no awarding organisation approval at this time, so we cannot award a regulated qualification. No UK law requires one to practise, which we explain in our guide to what the regulation actually requires.

Governance keeps the clinic

In aesthetics, careers end over paperwork more often than technique: uninsurable treatment records, undocumented prescribing arrangements, consent forms that collapse under a complaint. This course is the operating manual, with the actual templates.

Modules

  • Insurance, covering medical malpractice versus beauty policies, claims-made pitfalls and run-off cover, and the evidence insurers demand by profession
  • Prescribing arrangements, with the face-to-face rules (now explicit across all regulators), documentation and the prescriber–practitioner agreement template
  • Records that defend you, meaning consultation, consent, photography and batch tracking, plus UK GDPR for health data without the jargon
  • Premises and registrations, including treatment-room standards, local-authority registrations (London special treatment licences for lasers among them), waste contracts and CQC boundaries
  • Regulation-readiness, taking in England’s traffic-light licensing scheme status and preparation checklist, Scotland’s 2026 Act and the September 2027 licence dates, and Wales’ special-procedures regime
  • Complaints and incidents, with the response framework that de-escalates and insurer notification done right

Frequently asked questions

It is aimed at your first eighteen months, but a striking number of established practitioners take it after a near-miss (usually an insurance renewal question or a complaint) and rebuild their paperwork from the template library.
