A laser/IPL safety qualification covering physics, tissue interaction, hazards, controlled areas and Local Rules. It is required in practice by insurers, Laser Protection Advisers and most local-authority schemes for anyone operating Class 3B/4 lasers or IPL, whatever their profession. It is safety theory only, so treatment competence needs a separate qualification.
Core of Knowledge is the seatbelt of the laser world: not the whole car, but nobody credible lets you drive without it. Ours runs online (roughly 6 hours) with an assessed pass mark and instant verifiable certification, and is the usual entry requirement for Level 4 and Level 5 programmes. Renewal every 2–3 years is the expected norm, and your certificate carries its recommended renewal date, which insurers appreciate more than they say.
