At a properly run academy, yes. Delegates practise under the provider’s supervising clinicians and training indemnity arrangements. Confirm this in writing before booking, and note that it covers the course only. Your own policy is required before you treat anyone independently afterwards.
Two separate insurance questions get merged. There is cover during training, which is the provider’s responsibility (ask to see the arrangement described in writing, as ours is), and cover for your own practice afterwards, which is yours. For the second, insurers assess your profession, training evidence and case exposure. We hand every delegate the current entry criteria of the main insurers for their profession as part of the course pack, so the Monday after training is a form-filling day rather than the start of a research project.
